Founder of Refined by Hewitt, Jenna grew up in Dorset and it remains her family home today. Since we started our business, we've attracted couples who want to plan their wedding either at family homes, private venues or exclusive hotels across this beautiful county and surrounding areas. It's a region we know very well and one we love. Whether your home is in Dorset or you’re London-based and looking for a countryside wedding, our connection to both areas means we are perfectly positioned to help.
Dorset lends itself to the quintessential marquee wedding and many of the celebrations we plan will use a marquee as a feature, either for all the elements or to host the dinner and dancing.

OUR planning approach
We offer full wedding planning; this includes all aspects of wedding design, planning and production - we're with you from start to end.
01: Your ideas
We begin by listening to you to capture your wedding vision. This begins before you've even hired us when we invite you to an initial consultation. Here we'll gain an understanding of your plans and you'll have the opportunity to ask us as many questions as you'd like to make sure we're the right planners for you.
02: Plan & design
When you choose us, we'll lead all the planning and design work. This starts with timelines and budgets and quickly moves on to supplier research, recommendations, wedding style, design concepts and much more in between. Tailoring everything to you and involving you as little or as much as you'd like along the way.
03: Your wedding
As your wedding day approaches, we'll work closely together, along with your supplier team, to cover every last detail so that you can relax and enjoy the build-up and, most importantly, the celebrations.

Our weddings are created uniquely for you and each one is distinctly individual. Our style is defined by our way of working and the feel of our weddings, which we call "effortless luxury." Our weddings are refined but always relaxed, with you at the heart of everything we do. We take a lot of care and pride in our work and most of all we want you to enjoy the experience of working with us.

MARQUEE weddings
Dorset is the perfect backdrop for a marquee wedding. Many of our couples choose to use their family home to host their celebrations and a marquee offers a blank canvas, full creative freedom, makes a feature of a beautiful garden and gives the flexibility to accommodate larger guest numbers. Over the years, we've planned many marquee weddings at home and private estates.
A marquee wedding is a favourite at Refined by Hewitt; it's where our experience comes into its own. Logistically, a marquee is more involved than a venue-based wedding. The set-up will take place days before, and there are multiple moving parts to consider - from access for deliveries, power supply, amenities, building a kitchen for caterers, lighting and much more. We know exactly what's needed and how to source and manage the right suppliers to work to ensure a seamless event.
LUXURY wedding venues
Dorset boasts numerous luxury private venues, each with a rich history, period features, and a unique character and style - Came House, St Giles House and Penn Castle Estate, to name but a handful. On the border of Hampshire and Dorset, Somerley House remains a firm, Refined favourite. It has a rich history, is visually stunning, comes with over 7000 acres of woodland and park and also happens to be moments away from founder, Jenna's family home.
If you're planning a wedding weekend and prefer the thought of all your guests staying throughout, a hotel wedding venue could be for you. There are plenty of coastal and countryside options, from The Pig to the Priory, depending on your style and preference. If you're looking for 5-star quality and service, we can highly recommend the luxury hotel and retreat, Chewton Glen. As independent wedding planners, we aren't affiliated with any venue and will candidly share our experience and suggestions on which venue will work with your taste and priorities.
